Archie "Ray" Lowery

Archie “Ray” Lowery, 58, of Newport, passed away Thursday, January 24­, 2019, at Carteret Health Care.

His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Brother Bob Lowery.

Ray was raised and lived almost all his life in Carteret County. He provided for his family by doing drywall construction. He loved deer hunting and western movies and was a talented cook that specialized in fried newchicken and grilling. Archie was a genuine and loyal man whose door was always open, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years and the love of his life, Donna Lowery of the home; daughter, Teala Lowery of Newport; son, Brandon Young Willis of Morehead City; sisters, Suzie Vaugh Lowery and Dale Lowery; brother, Tommy Lowery; grandchildren, Alexa Lowery and Austin Willis; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Martha Lowery; sister, Martha Weaver Lowery; and brother, Clayton Lowery.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Munden Funeral Home.
