Annie Nell Wilson Pollock, 92, of Newport, passed away Friday, August 21, 2020, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Amariah Garner Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Glenn Batts. Friends are welcome to attend the service. For those unable to attend, the family invites you to view the webcasting of the service through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. In keeping with the CDC guidelines pertaining to the Coronavirus, those who are ill or at-risk (elderly, immune-compromised) are encouraged to stay home. Additionally, there will be a limit to the number of people in the building at one time, as well, those who attend will be asked to bring and wear a protective mask. Help us honor the family while practicing safe measures. Friends are also encouraged to leave words of comfort to the family through the website.
Annie was born on February 22, 1928, in Madison County, Tennessee, to the late William and Dola Wilson. She was a dedicated and hard-working woman who began her work experience at the young age of 16 working in a Cotton Mill. She later became a nurse where here skill and kindness were extended to those she cared for. She spent most of her life in the beautiful coastal town of Surf City, before moving to Carteret County. Annie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Tony Wilson and wife Donna of Wilmington, NC, James Wilson and wife Gwen of Jackson, TN and Mike Wilson and wife Susan of Sanford, NC; brother, Arthur Wilson and wife Melinda of Jackson, TN; special niece, Barbara Wilson Padgett of Holly Ridge; step-children, Buddy Pollock, Danny Pollock, Cindy McCausley and Tina Pollock; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Arthur Lindberg Pollock; as well as her siblings.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Crystal Coast Hospice House at P.O. Box 640, Newport, NC, 28570.
