Annie Moore Piner, 87, of Marshallberg, NC, died Monday, March 29, 2010, at Carteret General Hospital.
She was born November 2, 1922, to Edwin and Georgia Piner. A graduate of East Carolina University, she taught school in the Carteret and Craven County school systems for 33 years. She was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she served as organist and in many other capacities. She was a member of the Methodist Women's Organization, the NC State Retired Teacher's Association, and Eastern Star, where she served as pianist, and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1163 Marshallberg Rd., Marshallberg, NC. with Rev. Ellis J. Bedsworth and Rev. Douglas Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at Victoria Cemetery, Star Church Rd., Marshallberg. Following the burial service, the family will welcome visitors at Annie Moore's homeplace, 212 Moore Lane, Marshallberg.
She is survived by her brother, James Walker Piner and wife Audrey of Atlantic Beach; sister-in-law, Rosalie Chadwick Piner of Beaufort; nephews, Edwin Thomas Piner, III and wife Cathy of Marshallberg, Gregory Carl Piner and wife Danielle of Raleigh and Marshallberg, James Phillip Piner of Marshallberg and Barry Walker Piner and wife Stefanie of Raleigh; nieces, Karen Piner Campbell and Stuart Campbell of Raleigh, Joanne Piner Duncan and husband Tommy of Winterville and Gayle Piner Karasinski and husband Steve of Morehead City; great nephews, James Piner Duncan, Seaton Piner Karasinski, Ian Piner Karasinski, MacLain Hall Campbell, Edward Trent Piner, Walker Price Piner and Jack Gregory Piner; great nieces, Kristen Elizabeth Piner, Hailey Katherine Duncan and Ella Katherine Piner and special friends, Marie and Thelma Margaret Harris of Marshallberg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Thomas Piner, Sr. and Georgia Moore Piner and her brother, Edwin Thomas Piner, Jr.
The family will receive friends 5:00 - 6:30 pm Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
