Annette Pippin James, 75, of Newport, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023, at Carteret Health Care.
A graveside service to honor Annette's life will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 14th at Gethsemane Memorial Park, officiated by Rev. Tom Supplee.
Annette was born on January 12, 1948, in Renton, Washington to her late parents, Edgar and Helen Pippin. She grew up in a close-knit family, cherishing the values of love, kindness, and education instilled in her from a young age. Annette pursued her thirst for knowledge and earned a Master's Degree in Education, which laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for teaching.
With genuine dedication and a nurturing spirit, Annette embarked on a fulfilling career as an elementary school teacher. Her impact on countless young lives extended far beyond the classroom. Annette's patience, compassion, and commitment made her a beloved figure in the lives of her students, their families, and the entire school community. She exhibited an extraordinary ability to connect with each child, always finding ways to inspire and guide them on their educational journeys.
Outside of her professional life, Annette found immense joy in the company of her loving husband, Butch. Annette and Butch shared countless beautiful memories and a bond that will endure forever.
Annette's warm smile, genuine laughter, and kind heart touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her caring nature and selflessness will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her loving husband, George "Butch" James; daughter, Jennifer Annette James-Bolding and husband Jim of Newport; son, Andrew Leslie James of Orlando, FL; stepdaughter, Donna Marie James-Harrison of Lolo, MT; and grandchildren, Preston and Lauren Bolding.
In addition to her parents, Annette was preceded in death by her siblings, Shari Lou Adams, Judith Helen Fraser and Thomas Edgar Pippin.
