Anne Louise Styron

Our beloved Anne Louise Styron, 80, of Morehead City, passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, March 20, 2020, at Carteret Health Care.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Tim Marriner and Rev. Kit Teasdale. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Morehead City.

Anne was born on January 30, 1940, in Durham, North Carolina to the late Odell and Mary West.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Ronald D. Styron; proud daughters, Rebecca Nussbaum and husband Sheldon of Charlotte and Angela Shafer and companion Carter Graham of Emerald Isle; brother, Clarence O. West of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law, Debi Kesler and husband Eugene of Virginia Beach, VA; brother-in-law, Michael Styron; and great nephews, Clinton Kesler and Travis Kelser and wife Tori.

She was also blessed to have made lifelong memories with five grandchildren; Amber Lockrem and husband Matt, Ryan Shafer and wife Kaitlyn, Justin McSwain and wife Kristina, Lauren Beck and husband Andrew, Zachary Shafer and wife Myesha; and her legacy continues with seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Mary West and sisters, Edna West Floyd and Joyce West Riggs.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Monday, March 23­, 2020, at Munden Funeral Home.

A note from the family… We thank our friends and family near and far for celebrating Anne’s life with us not only today, but the 80 years Jesus shared her with us. We encourage you to find comfort in knowing that though we grieve here on Earth, we know this is not our forever home.
