Renee' Rodriguez, 53, of Beaufort, NC, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, July 5, 2014 after a battle with a rare bacterial disease.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday at First Baptist Church, Morehead City, NC.

Born in Richmond, VA and raised in Urbanna, VA, Angela Renee' had been a resident of the Crystal Coast for 7 years.  Angela Renee' served her country for 27 years in the U.S. Coast Guard before retiring from active duty in 2011 as USCG Sector North Carolina's Command Master Chief.  She was a loyal "Coastie" through and through and was a proud Master Chief.  Angela Renee' had a life long passion for tennis and treasured her time with her tennis friends and family.  They made her smile.  Angela Renee' loved gardening and would spend many happy hours taking care of her beloved rock garden.  Angela also loved and cherished her time with her four legged "girls", Chloe and Bella whom she spoiled to no end.

She is survived by her husband, Amilcar (Rod) Rodriguez; mother, Cynthia Y. Johnson of Urbanna, VA; three brothers, Clinton Johnson and Arnold Johnson of Urbanna, VA and Arthur Johnson, Jr. of Dallas, TX; two nephews, Jamar and Trey Johnson of Richmond, VA; a niece, Missy; aunt and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur B. Johnson.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5:00-8:00 pm at Munden Funeral Home.

The family requests memorial contributions be made in Angela Renee's memory to Pet Adoption & Welfare Society of Carteret (PAWS), 5042 Mattie Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
