Anderson Ray Lamb, 72, of Morehead City, NC, went to be with Jesus on February 10, 2021, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease; surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Susan Lamb; son, Michael Lamb, wife Sherri, and their sons Joshua and Grayson; and son, Matthew Lamb, wife Stacy, and their daughters Savannah and Scarlett.
Born September 15, 1948, on a dairy farm in High Point, he grew up in a large, loving family as the youngest of 5 children. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Ray throughout his lifetime. Growing up, he enjoyed motor-cross racing, running track, fishing and hunting. Once he became a father, he devoted time to coaching little league baseball and basketball for his sons, while teaching them how to fish on the lake. When not spending time with his family, Ray’s would be found working hard. His passion for his trade as a builder and a developer fostered a love of trimming houses and building custom cabinetry. Instead of sitting back during retirement, he found an outlet for his love fishing when he, his wife, and youngest son, together built a successful business serving the fishing community of Eastern North Carolina.
Family and fishing were the center of Ray’s life. He loved spending time at Buggs Island Lake, especially Christmas time when his whole family could be together. Trips to the Louisiana Bayou with the family created memories of massive red drum and stories of a lifetime, that Ray loved to share.
The girls called him Pop, the boys called him Trouble, and the Lord called him home.
