Amelia Padrick Bryan, 84, passed away peacefully, December 13, 2024, at her home in New Bern, surrounded by her family.
A funeral service to honor Amelia’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 20th at Munden Funeral Home in Morehead City. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through her obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Amelia was born on July 12, 1940, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late Fondos Padrick and Sybil Rhodes Padrick. Amelia married Vernon "Joe" DeWitt Bailey Bryan on October 12, 1960, at the Hollywood First Baptist Church in Havelock. Amelia worked as a Civil Servant for the Federal Government in Washington, DC and at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina. After an early retirement, Amelia committed to providing a loving, faith-based home for her children and husband of over 61 years.
Amelia was a dedicated wife and mother who had a passion for living life and caring for her family. She loved taking care of the family pets, family cookouts, summer family vacations, Marine Corps Balls, Christmas trips to Myrtle Beach, shopping sprees and decorating for the holidays.
Amelia is survived by daughter, Gina Smith and husband Patrick; son, Vernon "Little Joe" Bryan and wife Genia; granddaughter, Gillian Bryan; grandson, Joshua Bryan; sisters, Patricia Norman and husband Woody; Pamela Richards and husband Steve; brother, Ronnie Padrick and wife Lyn.
She is predeceased by immediate family members to include husband, Vernon "Joe" DeWitt Bailey Bryan; father, Fondos Padrick; mother, Sybil Padrick; sister, Shelby Lewis and husband Bobby.
Flowers are welcome or donations in memory of Amelia may be made to Misplaced Mutts, P.O. Box 58, Beaufort, NC 28516.
