Alvin Glenn Walker

Alvin "Glenn" Walker, 91, of Havelock, died Monday, December 9, 2013, at Bayview Nursing Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Liberty Christian Church with Rev. Tom Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Glenn was a faithful, devout Christian man, a loving husband and father, and a friend to all who met him. He retired from the United States Marine Corp in 1963 having served in WWII and Korea. He subsequently had a career with Metropolitan Life Ins. Co. Over a 20 year span, he and his wife traveled and camped in every state in the union except Alaska. The last two years of his life he resided at the Courtyards at Berne Village in New Bern.
He is survived by three sons George W. Walker and wife Leah of Arlington, TX, R. Daniel Walker and wife Donna of New Bern, NC, and Gregory L. Walker and wife Cathy of Orlando, FL; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Doris Louise Walker.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
