Alvah Slaughter

Blair Slaughter, 63, of Newport, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Carteret General Hospital.
Services will be held 11:00 am Monday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Amariah Garner Cemetery.
He is survived by a brother, Gilbert "Tootsie" Slaughter and wife Florine of Newport; three nieces, Cynthia L. Slaughter and husband, Kevin FitzGerald of Sevierville, TN, Sheri Lewis and husband Clyde of Newport and Paige Hamilton of Beaufort, SC; great-nephews, Greg Noonan of Newport and Adam Hamilton of Naples, FL and numerous relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto B. Slaughter and Kathleen Garner Slaughter and a sister, Christine S. Kennedy.
The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 pm Sunday at Munden Funeral Home.
