Alonza "Lon" Morris Russell
March 7, 1921 — August 13, 2015
Alonza "Lon" Russell, 94, of Beaufort passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at his home.
A graveside service will be held 2:OO pm Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Live Oak Grove Christian Cemetery.
Alonza was a life member of the VFW Post 2401 of Beaufort. He served in the Marine Corp. A Veteran of World War II, South Pacific, Occupation of Japan.
He is survived by his five nieces, Audrey Garner Fodrie, Betty Garner Hardesty, Carol Garner Cannon, Gertrude Carter and Flyn Goldston all of Beaufort; special great great niece, Challie Amber Martin of Beaufort; and a great great great niece, Raylee; also several other nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bryant and Bertha Russell; three sisters, Evelyn Murphy, Helen Garner and Katie Masotti; and two brothers, Charlie Russell and Robert Russell; and a niece, Diane Garner,
