On the evening of December 7th, 2021, Alfonso Pearson transitioned at the age of 64 in his home of Newport, North Carolina.
Alfonso’s memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, December 17th, 2021, at The Sanctuary of Newport, NC.
Alfonso, affectionately known as Al to family and friends, was born on June 29th, 1957, to the late Eddie and Beatrice Pearson at Fitkin Memorial Hospital in Neptune, New Jersey. He was raised in Englishtown, NJ with his 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Al attended elementary school at Englishtown-Manalapan School District, and Manalapan High school. Upon graduating high school, Al attended a technical school in Massachusetts. Shortly after, Al returned back home to NJ. He was a man of many trades, one being painting. Alfonso was an exceptional painter and worked for his brother’s business, “Pearson Painting Company”. Known as “Picasso” for his hard work and dedication shown in all of his work.
Al moved from Monmouth County, NJ to Carteret County, NC in 2020 to be closer to his children. Alfonso will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, love of family and friends, and a loving father to his children.
He is survived by the mothers of his children, Alison Ellington of Sante Fe, New Mexico, and Robbin Chambers of Perth Amboy, NJ. His daughters, Ashley Ellington and Angelique Ellington, of Newport, North Carolina, and Alisha Ellington of Charlotte, NC. Sons, Christian Pearson of Perth Amboy, NJ, Austin Ellington of Fairfield, Ohio, and Aaron Ellington of Salisbury, NC. Sisters, Linda Williams of NJ and Barbara Ann Cheatham of Pennsylvania. Brothers, Dennis Pearson of Atlanta, Georgia, Kevin Pearson of Rahway, NJ, Peter Pearson of New Jersey, and Wayne Pearson of Poconos, PA. Daughter-in-Law, Theresa Chislum-Pearson. Grandchildren, Darius, Mia, Tristan, Julian, Darian, and Olivia. Brother-in-Law, Michael Williams. Sisters-in-Law, Wanda Pearson, Kathy Pearson, and Regina Gibbs. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, and additional family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie Pearson Jr. and John Pearson.
