Aldenia Whitehurst

Aldenia Garrish Whitehurst of Beaufort, passed away at Carteret General Hospital on August 30, 2010. She was 93.
She was born on Ocracoke to Preston G. and Bertha O'Neal Garrish on May 9, 1917.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday at Ann Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Lindblade and Rev. Dr. Ann Simms officiating. Interment will follow at Oceanview Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Bobbie J. Midgette of Beaufort; grand-daughter, Carla F. Midgette of Ayden; and grandson, Justin A. Midgette of Raleigh; an adopted grandson, Jon Bower also of Raleigh; sister, Bertha O'Neal of Ocracoke and brother and sister-in-law, Jule and Rosemary Garrish of Ocracoke and Beaufort
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Salter and Olive Garrish, and two brothers, Richard Powers Garrish and Alfred Garrish.
She was preceded in death by two husbands Wolford E.A. Rush and Gilbert B. Whitehurst.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
