Albert "Bud" Edward Scharnagl, Jr., 70, of Beaufort, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Carolina East Medical Center.
The family and church will conduct a memorial service at 6:00 pm Wednesday July15, 2015 at One Harbor Church in Beaufort.
Bud was honorably discharged from the U.S Navy after four years of service, and retired from EMD Millipore after 25 years as a plant electrician. He was a passionate fisherman that loved to fish for flounder. He served on the Board of Saltwater Light Tackle Fishing Club. Additionally, he served as a volunteer and former board member of Loaves and Fishes, and as an active member of One Harbor Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Blanco Scharnagl of the home; two daughters, Lisa Ann Scharnagl Gill and husband Jonathan of Charlotte, NC and Kristen Blanco Puma and husband Charles of Buckeye, AZ; two sons, Ken Scharnagl and wife Tammy of Hinesville, GA, and David Brian Blanco and wife Alison of Mechanicsville, VA; sister, Joy Cook and husband Bob of Mickleton, NJ; also eight grandchildren, Adam Scharnagl, Colin Gill, Andy Gill, Sammy Puma, Simon Gill, David Blanco, Kate Blanco, and Logan Puma.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Julie Ann Scharnagl; and his parents, Albert and Elizabeth Scharnagl, Sr.
In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to One Harbor Church for the Teen Nicaragua Mission Trip or New Building Fund 214 Turner St. Beaufort, NC 28516.
Family will receive friends 30 minutes prior at One Harbor Church in Beaufort.
