Albert "Sandy" Sandoval

Albert “Sandy” Sandoval, 80, of Havelock, NC, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Croatan Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

A memorial service to honor Sandy’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, presided by Rev. Jim Buchholz.

Sandy was born on April 19, 1943, in Brunswick, Maine, to the late Pedro and Loretta Sandoval. He spent his younger years in scenic Maine and later Arizona. Sandy bravely served in the United States Marine Corps, dedicating a significant part of his life to our country. He served in the Vietnam War as a member of the Air Wing Division, later retiring from Cherry Point as a Master Gunnery Sergeant.

Sandy married his sweetheart, Lucille, in 1979 and they enjoyed many wonderful years together. Following his military career, Sandy continued to contribute his skills as a Field Service Technician for Munters Cargo Care Corporation. His favorite hobbies were golfing, and he was an aspiring carpenter. Sandy will be remembered for his dedication and strong work ethic. He leaves behind precious memories and a legacy of service that will be forever honored.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his daughter, Marie Sandoval of Johns Creek, Georgia; stepsons, William Remington (Patricia) of Leesburg, Georgia, Thomas Remington (Jodi) of New Hampshire; stepdaughter, Cheryl Kerney (Joe) of Havelock; loving friend, Christine Tsoi of Havelock; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Sandy was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Sandoval.
