Alan R. Hilbert, 65, of Newport, died Friday, September 6, 2013 at Crystal Bluffs.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Monday at Broad Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Ball officiating.
Alan was a computer analyst for the Civil Service and retired after 30 years. He was well loved as a local Beach Music D.J. He was active in the Atlantic Beach Shag Club, and a member of the North Carolina Beach Music Association.
He is survived by his wife Donna Hilbert of Newport; son Alan Hilbert, Jr. of Newport; daughter Meg Hamilton Hollis of Kentucky; step daughter Michelle Bach Siner and husband Trey of Concord; two grandchildren McKenzie and Bailey Siner; sisters Sheila Hilbert Moore and husband Scott, and Sharon Brackins and husband Phil; three nieces Allison Berry and husband Nate, Ashley Larson and husband Tim, and Amanda Twisdale and husband Jake; and nephew Josh Brackins and wife Ashley.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Daisy Hilbert.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Broad Creek United Methodist Church at 562 Broad Creek Loop Rd. Newport, NC 28570.
