Adrienne Geist

Adrienne Geist, 85, of Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Crystal Coast Hospice House.

Adrienne was born on November 15, 1939, in Haworth, New Jersey. She grew up in Bronxville, New York, later raising her family in Somers, New York, before relocating with her husband, Walter, to North Carolina in the early 1990’s.

A gifted artist, Adrienne, expressed her creativity through her exquisite quilts and a variety of arts and crafts projects. Her stained-glass creations were particularly noteworthy, showcasing her talent and dedication to her craft.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Walter Roland Geist; daughter, Christine Herr (Ed) of Apex, NC; sons, Kenneth Geist (Teresa) of Tampa, FL, Paul Geist (Amy) of Charlotte, NC, and Bill Geist (Rebecca) of Los Alamos, NM; sister, Barbara Cella (Robert) of Seattle, WA; brother, Tony Bergeron (Myrna) of California; sisters-in-law, Rose Bergeron of Easton, PA, Gladys VanBredrode of Gates, NY, and Brooke VanBredrode of Milford, CT; grandchildren, Emma Geist, Keethan Geist, Ed Herr, Sarah Herr, Riley Geist, and Sean Geist; and her sidekick, her dog, Smoky. 

Adrienne was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary VanBredrode; brothers, Donald Bergeron, Rev. John VanBredrode, and Peter VanBredrode.
