Adeline L. Donahue, 90, of Havelock, NC and formerly of Virginia Beach, VA and Franklin, MA passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern, NC.
On Saturday, May 25, 2024, a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at H. D. Oliver Funeral Home ~ Laskin Road Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery, directly behind the Funeral Home.
Adeline was born on March 2, 1934, in Milford, Massachusetts to the late Elio L. and Susan M. (Sciarra) Mucciarone. She grew up and lived in Franklin, Massachusetts where she made lifelong friendships and many memories. Adeline graduated from Boston College in 1955 with a B.S. degree in Secondary Science along with a certification in Secondary Education. Her initial career began instructing and managing Registered Nurses followed by 23 years as a middle school math and science teacher until her retirement from the Franklin Public Schools in 1989.
Adeline moved to Virginia Beach in 1992 and lived there with her husband Robert until his passing in 1999. She then moved to Havelock in 2001 where she was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. In her free time, Adeline volunteered at Carolina East Medical Center as a “Grey Lady”. She also enjoyed knitting, puzzle building and spending time with family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her children, Christopher Donahue and wife Valerie of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Susan Priesing and husband Robert of Havelock, NC, Carol Villarreal and husband Lee of Havelock, NC, and James Donahue and wife Patricia of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Laura Lovelace, Denise Nobles, Kimberly McAlpine, Allison Hingley and Kathleen DeRego, Joseph Villarreal, Nicholas Villarreal, Shannon Donahue, and Kathleen Donahue. Adeline is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Adeline was preceded in death by her sister, Marion Conway; and brother, Alfred Mucciarone.
