Ronald James Edwards

Ronald “Ron” James Edwards, 75, of Newport, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City.

Ron was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. He joined the U.S. Air Force immediately following high school where he honorably served for 20 years. Before retiring in 1980 his time in the military took him and his family all over the world, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. He and his family settled in Carteret County where he had a successful career in HVAC including owning and operating Commercial Refrigeration and Edwards Heating and Air. He retired a second time in 2007 to work on his own home and spend time with his family. He will be remembered for being very patriotic, a loyal husband and loving father.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet “Jan” Edwards of the home; daughter, Tracy Vore and husband Matt of Western NC; son, Lee Edwards of Shelby, NC; brothers, Michael Moore and wife Janice of Chelmsford, England, Kevin Moore and wife Sally of Chelmsford, England; sisters, Frances Mills of Greensboro, NC, Pauline Moore of Withan, England; grandchildren, Krystal Edwards, Kristopher Edwards; nieces and nephews, Steve, Robin, Michelle and many more loving nieces and nephews in England.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, James Edwards and Rosena Angelina Edwards.
