Melissa Taylor Lawrence, 50, of Bettie, passed away Wednesday, April 24­, 2019, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.

Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Harkers Island, officiated by Bishop B.L. Marcom. Interment will follow at Nelson Bay Cemetery in Sea Level.

She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Wayne Lawrence of Beaufort; sons, Avery Wayne Lawrence and fiancé Meridian Owen of Davis, Landon Shane Lawrence of the home; parents, Ralph G. Taylor and Barbara G. Taylor of Marshallberg; brothers, Robert G. Taylor of Marshallberg, Stephen D. Taylor and wife Misty of Marshallberg; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Lynn Grimes and husband David of Raleigh, Laurie Knighten of New Bern; aunt, Anne Browhan; nephews, Elijah Grimes, Spencer G. Taylor, Seth B. Taylor, Samuel L. Taylor, Farrin D. Taylor; and niece, Emily Grimes.

Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Harkers Island.
